Facts about Supreme Court

We know how important the Supreme Court is to the success of progressive initiatives. We need to keep our eye on where the top nine are moving. Here are two sources of information you will find of value.

The Washington Post Web site "Supreme Court" is a summary of its coverage and blogs. Most recently, Robert Barnes examined Chief Justice Roberts' strategies in "Term Saw High Court Take a Step to the Right." Barnes notes, "(The court's) path (this year) was clear: a patient and steady move to the right..., one that is likely to continue even if President Obama is successful in adding Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the high court -- and perhaps two others like her."

The Poytner Institute for Media Studies tells reporters, "If you occasionally or regularly follow the U.S. Supreme Court, the SCOTUS Blog and the SCOTUS wiki are indispensable resources. Through the blog and wiki, the law firm Akin, Gump delivers overviews, analysis, news and links to key documents of every case before the Court."
